Default ODBC Connection using Specific TCP Port - 12-21-2011 , 12:19 AM

HI,

I am having issue with configuring ODBC connection to SQL server 2008
if I configure to not use dynamic port and specify port 1433 then I am
not able to make connection with SQL server. I am using SQL
authentication. This is on local server also, but if I select
dynamically select the port then I am able to make connection. Any
idea what's going on !!!

I think looking further I find out that TCPIP configuration on this
istance is configuer for diffrent port so if I use that port number
then I can create ODBC connection using TCP port .. Thanks,
