Default Ghosting with SQL - 10-11-2005 , 08:24 AM

Hi,

Does anyone know if a system can be ghosted with SQL pre-installed on it?
Any issues with the fact that SID and the machine name will change after
ghosting?

Thank you.

Yes. It is a bad idea. You have to manually change the SQL Server name
after ssyprep and MSDTC gets screwed up, requiring a registry hack to fix.

We do it all the time with no problems. There is no need to change the SQL
server name.unless you change the Machine name.
