Default Windows XP Home Edition and Analysis Services - 11-17-2003 , 06:26 PM

Does anyone know if Analysis Services will work with Windows XP Home Edition. I installed SQL Server Developer Edition along with Analysis Services and English Query. When I tried to connect to the server in Analysis Services, I keep getting something about the registry connection or that I am not a member of the OLAP Administrators group. Since XP Home Edition has something of a watered down version of group and user management, I'm not sure if this can be done. Should this be done in the Security container within the default instance of SQL Server 2000 as a new login? If so, can anyone provide details? Please help.

Thanks,

Default user added to group? - 11-18-2003 , 05:33 AM

You probably have already checked, but in case you didn't:

Make sure your user does belong to the newly created
local group OlapAdministrators.

Why install it on XPHome anyway?
