Default Where I can find OLE DB for analysis Services v.8 - 06-16-2004 , 03:23 AM

Hello. I´m trying to access to cubes from Excel, but I cannot find
them. This is because I have not installed the "OLE DB For OLAP
Services v8.0". I could find this driver in the Microsoft SQL Server
instalation disk as "Client components" inside "Analisys Services
components", but I would like to know which is exactly package
contains this driver.

I want to know if the package that contains this driver is free (I can
create a link in my web application for users to auto-installing it)
or it needs a licence.

The OLE DB for OLAP provider is also known as Pivot Table Services (not to be confused with Excel or OWC Pivot Tables).
The latest version (as far as I know) is a part of SQL 2000 SP3a for Analysis Services.
When you expand the service pack you will find two versions:
ptsfull.exe (which includes MDAC) and ptslite.exe (which doesn't).
HTH,
