What would be the implicatons of running the Cube processing on the
OLAP box and having the star schema on the OLAP Server? In terms of
speed of processing , query response times and also speed of the
browsing?

Any white papers on that?

Hi Ajay,

What do you mean by OLAP box as opposed to OLAP(AS) Server?

This is a typical configuration, and in many (most?) circumstances the
recommended configuration. It's possible that processing speed will
degrade -- it's good to have a fast connection between the servers. It's
also possible processing speed will improve (i.e. if you are ram constrained
on the 1 box). Query response time should improve (more available ram, no
contention with SQL).
