Default Weird : More than the maximum of 64,000 dimension member - 04-08-2005 , 09:47 AM

I have a cube with more than 3 million records and now I trying to do
a incremental load into this cube and also set the setting to do a
incremental dimension update now when I processing a load I get the
following weird error:

More than the maximum of 64,000 dimension member
children for a single parent (dimension 'Material', level 'Material',
member '').;

I am not sure what it is in the past I have created Analysis Services
cubes with more than 64,000 members please help how to get over this
error I do not have any levels in my dimension it is a flat one level
dimension just material numbers

Thanks
Karen

You need to add a parent level to that dimension even if it is
non-sensical. For instance, you might grab the first character of the
material number and make that be the parent level.

Plus, you can also set visible property of the parent level to False.

You could set the level up to use the automatic grouping feature.
Look at the advanced properties of the level in the dimension editor.

The problem I have is if I set a parent level it is asking for
reprocessing the cube as I mentioned I am doing a incremental load
into the cube I do not have the data in SQL database for the data in
the cube already.

Appreciate some help.

Thanks
Karen
