Default Weighting factor to resolve many to many relation ??? - 09-12-2003 , 03:50 PM

Hi,

As other people I got problems with many to many relation to dimensions
using OLAP. I've found that the weigthing tables with weighting factors
would be a great idea to resolve the problem but I have no idea how to
implement this into a cube. I create my snowflake relation to the fact table
with the group table, weight table and then the dimension table, but I find
no way to include the weight factor (which is in the weight table) into the
calculations of aggregates as it is not part of the fact table etc...

Can someone help me ? Maybe with Calculated members ? I don't know a lot
about it !

Yeah, i'm looking for the solution for the weigthing factors as well.
The idea from the Kimball (i think) book does not detail it out how it
should be executed in the cube environment!
