Default VS.Net Web Control for BI/Analysis Services connectivity - 04-09-2004 , 06:16 PM

I haven't had success running with Visual Studio .Net Control for BI, hoping that someone can help me. I am relatively new to the Analysis Services environment

My environment

XP Professional with local II
SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services SP
XML for Analysis 1.1 (beta

I have setup the HTTP connectivity for SQL Server AS in my IIS (by copying the msolap.asp to the default website, wondering if there is something wrong here)

When I try to execute the sample application, try "Get Data Source" button (with the default url http://localhost/xmla/msxisapi.dll), I am getting the following error

Server Error in '/mssqlbiwebctrlsample' Application
The Discover method returned a null reference.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks in advanc
Murthy.

Hi Michael,

Thankyou for downloading the control, and hope you find it useful.

Something about NullReferenceExeption.
Just like to know if you are using Xml/a 1.1 or 1.0 ? The control
currently only supports Xml/a 1.1. There seems to be a breaking
change between the two. In case you are using 1.1, you will need
to uninstall 1.1 and reinstall 1.0.

Hope this helps.

The control seems to work only with XML/A 1.0.
