Dave Wickert (MSFT) documented a known issue in 2003 where virtual cubes would not provide correct access when used with dimension security unless they were processed after processing physical cubes on which they were based. Does this problem still exist. Is there any more information available on this topic. If it is fixed, is the fix in an SP. I have seen problems with virtual cubes this week that would suggest that this problem can stil occur. |

I made that observation post-SP3. It was supposed to be fixed in SP4. I have had the opportunity to verify it. -- Dave Wickert [MSFT] dwickert (AT) online (DOT) microsoft.com Program Manager BI SystemsTeam SQL BI Product Unit (Analysis Services) -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Dave, Interestingly we have just one server that moved up to SP4 recently to try and deal with another "fixed" issue. This server is the only one (others on SP3) that exhibits this behavior. Rather than fixing it it looks to have made things worse. I note in your original post you referred to a type of processing you called processSecurity. Is this an undocumented option or a name given to one of the usual options? "Dave Wickert [MSFT]" wrote: I made that observation post-SP3. It was supposed to be fixed in SP4.
