My concern is about versioning and deployment of Analysis Services objects :

- Is it possible to use versioning softwares like Merant Version Manager,
Visual Source Safe or CVS with Analysis Services ?

- If possible, what would be the elements managed by these softwares (whole
database or smaller elements).

- about deployment, what are the best practices to deploy AS database
between two environments ?
Note that i don't want to backup/restore whole database (since source does
not have correct datas) and also I would like to avoid reprocessing whole
target database.

- Furthermore, is it possible only to deploy "small" AS objects like
dimension, measure according to a particular version (see versioning
software)

All the metadata pertaining to an Analysis Server is stored in an mdb file
(msmdrep.mdb). You could put this under version control. I don't know of a
way of putting individual objects under version control.

N.B. AS2005 facilitates versioning of individual objects.
