Default Using old Excel Pivot against new version of OLAP. - 09-25-2006 , 06:58 AM

Hi all.
We have been using Excel to read PivotTable Services 8.0 is the OLE DB
provider for SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services and genereated a lot of
spreadsheets based on this cubes. Now we upgradet to SQL Server 2005 and SQL
Server 2005 Analysis Services. Then cubes are migrated successfully. We have
installed the Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB Provider but get some
errormessages when trying to reconnect to the new cubes.
First message: The following system error occurred: No suche host is known.
Second message: Errors in the OLE DB provider. An error occurred while
loading the connection dialog box component for prompting.

I know the host is not known because it is the old one that runned on
SQL2000. But the second message sounds like an error I cant do anything
with. I would like to choose the new database on SQL2005 and woalahh,
finished.

Any known issurs around this?

Thanx all

geir

You need the office 2005 Beta to change database connections, excel 2003
does not support it -or just maybe using macros.
But you can change the connections using Office 2005 Beta and the write the
files in Excel 2003 format for the other users.
