Default Users unable to login to Analysis Server Database - 08-07-2003 , 11:08 AM

I have a VB application that queries data from an analysis
services cubes. When users try to login to the anaylsis
server they get a 'Database not found' error. However if I
give the users administrative rights to the server then
they can login without any problem. The application also
uses DSO objects.

Is there any other way besides giving admin rights to the
users.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Khalid,
You remembered to use Analysis Manager and map the user accounts to a
Database Role, right? If not, only admins can connect.

Hello,

The repository is a mdb file in the Bin folder oof analysis services and
the folder is share under MsOLAPRepository$. The user you use can't access
the file. The user must have the right to the directory, you can try to
connect at \\ServerName\MsOLAPRepository$

Hope this Help

Patrice

I added the users to the olap Administrators group. But I
am still getting the following error when I try to connect
using DSO.
Cannot connect to the Repository

Oops, I misread you questions. If you access AS with DSO
you need to be an
OLAP admin. Remember they don't need to have local admin
rights so in most
cases this is an acceptable security practice.
