Default Users of OLAP Cubes - 03-02-2004 , 09:55 AM

Hello,

When setting up access on Enterprise Edt. the user must specify a username
and password when connection. I have tried to create some local users on the
Analysis Server - however - they do not seem to authenticate proberly. Would
the users need to be on the same domain controller as the Analysis Server
is? I.e. does it not work with locally defined users on the server?

Thanks...

** Lars

Huh.. Guess I should read before pressing send. It is when connecting over
HTTP the above issue applies.

Cheers..

Please check what is the default domain for Basic Authentication in IIS.
Usually it will be domain that machine belongs to. If you created local
users, you should change it to the machine name. Or type the full
domain\username when connecting.
