Default Use "% Of" in Field Settings - 07-06-2005 , 12:57 AM

Hi,

I have two measures in a given cell in an OLAP pivot tbl.

How do I make the lower of the two (we'll call it B) a percentage of the upper
one (A)? That is, in Excel parlance, where in the lower half of the cell there
was simply B, now there's B/A.

Thought I found what I needed in 1) right-click on an instance of B 2) Field
Settings 3) Open Options 4) Change Normal to "% Of" and 5) select measure A in
the box below "% Of".

Except that what I get when I apply this is a bunch of #N/As in the B portion of
the cells.

pat

Ah. I think I may have been caught short by this:

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;231052

That is, you can't get there from here.

The article indicates no prospect for a solution, work-around, whatever. Very
helpful.

Anyone know of one of the Excel plug-ins that will do this?

2 measures. Then express the second one as a percentage of the first.

I've gone through the list of plug-ins listed at
http://www.mosha.com/msolap/util.htm#ExcelAddIns
but got tired of wading through the marketingese (BI, "faster delivery", KPI,
blah, blah, blah). And gave up.

I want "% Of". (and whatever else this plug-in has to offer).

thanx.
