Has anyone seen an error with disabling levels in a dimension and
enabling VISUAL TOTALS for a custom rule for security on that same
dimesion?
I have a set of cubes which are at different levels of granularity. I
have a cube with costs associated to a Product Line in a product
dimension. I have other measures in other cubes associated at a lower
level - product number - in the product dimension. In order to bring
these cubes together in a virtual cube I created a snowflaked product
dimension. The product dimension has 2 tables : one for product number
and a higher level table for product line. In order to use this
dimension in the cost cube I have to disable the product number level
in the product dimension. The problem comes when trying to implement
product line custom security. I want to be able to enable visual
totals but I can not. I get #ERR in the measures. Clicking on the
cells with this error I get "security problems - unknown error
Product". Any help would be appreciated.

Does your cube have a distinct count measure? Dim security + visual totals +
distinct count are a known problem.

Tom, No my cube does not have a distinct count measure. Just regular
measures whos aggregate functions are all sums.
