Default Update Cube in a Custom Action - 08-06-2003 , 04:30 PM

I need the ability to update the cube from a custom
action.

Does anyone know a way of doing this? It appears the
Update Cube MDX statement is not allowed as one of the
actions (though, could also be me).

Perhaps using a command-line utility or so? (I would
hate to resort to this)

Steven

This is an interesting concept and I would be interested in knowing why the
need?

Well, to be perfectly honest, the performance of
calculated cells and calculated members stinks when it
comes to dynamic rate based calculations.

So, I am looking for a way to still maintain centralized
business rules but doing it in a way that uses only
aggregations. With actions, I might be able to
circumvent this problem, but am cautiously optimistic at
this point.
