Default Unexpected error about calculated member - 04-25-2005 , 10:24 AM

Dear all,

I have created three calculated members for a cube, say A, B and C. I want
to show values of A and B in one calculated member. Therefore, I convert
values of A and B to string type and display the string in calculated member
C.

When I dragged calculated member C to my Excel Pivot Table, unexpected error
occured or sometimes connection is lost. However, if I drag caculated member
A and B to pivot table first and then calculated member C, everything is
normal.

I have no idea what happen. Does anyone encounter this problem? Please give
me some advices to this problem. Thanks!

Default Displaying Calculated Members causes system to hang/crash - 05-04-2005 , 04:28 AM

Hi,

I'm using .Net with Analysis Server and 3rd party tool Snowflake for data
browsing. When I use the existing Foodmart 2000's cubes and view in webpage
via the Snowflake control, i can select measure (including calculated ones
like profit and average) without any problem and quite fast too.

When I created a another db to replicate the Foodmart DB, i also created
similar cube (Sales) like in Foodmart DB. However, when using the the same
environment as above, but connected to my sample cube, accessing the
calculated measures causes the page loading to slow down. I noticed that
aspnet_wp and msmdrv processes eating up memory resources until my system
crash. this happens only when i want to view calculated measures. View the
data in Analysis Server for my sample db and cube causes no errors.

Any ideas on why this happens?
