We are using MS Analysis Server 2000 with SP3.
The machine we're using is a 2 x Pentium 3 XEON; 1GB RAM

We have a large cube with one dimension that contains more than 1 milion rows. We are processing in a cycle, from time to time, the dimensions and the partitions (incremental update) through DSO.

After few correct updates, DSO fails to connect to Analysis Services, and no other connection can be made. Even through AS console we receive the same message "Unable to connect to the registry on server or you are not a memeber of OLAP". The MDX Sample Application (MSOLAP) is still working.

The Remote Registry Service is started.

We've reinstalled several times Windows 2000, SQL&AS 2000 with SP3, but the same error occured.

The SQL server is on another computer, and the two computers are in a workgroup, having the same acount for administrator.

Also we've tuned the AS as "Microsoft SQL Server AS Performance Guide" recommends.

So where is the problem? Could somebody from Microsoft guide us through this?
