Default Unable to connect - error in data - 09-12-2003 , 02:58 AM






I have SQL Server 2003 with OLAP service installed on Windows 2003 server.
All updated with SP3a. (8.0.760.0).
I can normally connect to OLAP service with Analysis manager on server. I
can also import data to excel with OLAP OLE DB Provider.

On client (Windows XP) I installed Analysis manager (updated with SP3a). I
also installed PTSFull. I can normally connect to SQL server data.
When I tried to connect to OLAP service I get the message:
Cannot open connection to Analysis server 'xxxxxx',
Error in data [Possible data corruption].
I can't connect to analysis service with excel also.

What have to be done to solve the problem?

Hi Simon,

Make sure that this problem isn't going on, symptoms seems to fit:

PRB: Analysis Services with SQL Server Service Pack 3 Cannot Connect to
WGID:130

I solved the problem. It was not the problemm described in that article.
Problem was that my client-server connection wasn't trusted (client was not
connected to domain). I had only workgroup connection to server. This was
the problem.
