Default Unable to connect to the Analysis Manager on XP - 11-21-2005 , 08:07 AM

After installing MS SQL Server 2000 SP4 for Analysis services on Windows XP
Pro (with SP2), I am unable to connect to the Analysis Manager.

I have verified the following:

1. I am in the OLAP Administrators group. The local Administrator is also
in the same group.
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Bin\msmdrep.mdb has all the
security permissions (Full Control, Read/Write/Execute etc. etc.) for OLAP
Administrators group.

2. I have turned off the Windows Firewall and Personal Firewall

If I uninstall SP4 for Analysis services, I can connect to the Analysis
Manager but cannot browse the data on the cubes. For this reason, I was
advised to install the latest SP for Analysis services .

Could someone please help?

Thanks,
Nam
