Hi,

I restored a cube database that was made on a different machine.
I first restored the underlying OLTP database on my machine (that
was used for the cube). Then restored the cube database (.cab). I
see the restored Catalog and cubes inside it. I then change the
Datasource property of the catalog to point it to the OLTP database
which was restored.

I say process cubes and process database and everything goes well,
reports success after processing for 3-4 minutes.

Now when I select a cube from this catalog, right click on it and say
'Browse Data', I get an empty browse screen with two errors:

Unable to browse the cube "xxx"
Unable to locate the cube "xxx"

What's wrong? I really cant seem to find an answer.

I have applied SP3 for both : SQL Server 2000 and MS AS.

Hi Anand,

Are you able to browse data of any other cube in your
machine.

If not, try
- uninstalling Analysis Server
- Install Service pack 2 for Analysis Services and then
- Install Service Pack 3 for Analysis Services.

Hi Sanka,

I am able to browse all the FoodMart cubes, but not the ones which I
restored. Do you think I should try uninstall and apply patches one by
one in that case?
