I am having trouble installing Analysis Services SP4 update. I keep getting
an error at 6%.

Can anybody help?

I tried uninstalling Analysis Services and re-installing it. Then trying to
install the SP4 update and it still fails

Windows Server 2003 SP1
SQL 2000 SP4

You may try to stop the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) and
MSSQLServerOLAPService services and rename msmdsrv.exe in
<AS_installation_folder>\Bin to msmdsrv.exe_old. Then run SP4 installation
again. We had the same problem and were able to get around it by doing this.
