Default Time zone concideration with AS2005 - 10-26-2005 , 07:56 AM

AS2005 manage many internationnal consideration like Currency, translation
language, ...

What is the solution about the Time zone consideration that is implemented
or that is to be modeling to manage multiple timezone into an OLAP CUBE.

I have cube that contain World Network information, and i have many Probe
that monitor Network information (Probe_Hawaii (GMT-10:00), Probe_Madrid
(GMT+01:00), Probe_Fiji (GMT +12:00)). All statistique are stored with an UTC
time. When I want to Display information I Specify the Time that i want to be
display result information...

Example : There are many people that can query my cube that live in Madrid
or Havaii and when they view Cube and specially Date/Time Dimension they want
to do many reports into their Local Time Zone....

AS2005 include an automatically translation about time zone specification
during Query ? and translate Dimension hierarchies...

I think the solution is only to do 24 Dimensions (Hierarchies) because there
are 24 possible time zone. I f only this solution exist what is the impact on
agreagation.are they 24 times more importante ? (on disque)

what is the impact on cube ? because 24 (hierarchies) in not insignifiant...

If i Want to Add 2 Hierarchies of Date/Time : Y/Q/M/D/H/M and Y/W/D/H/M it's
necessary to create 48 Hierarchies.......

Have you an idea for this ?

that seem to be interesting that if we specify to AS2005 what is the
TimeZone used, and when we get Date/Time Dimension it can translate
information to be displayed in dimension into this timezone and when we send
request, it translate information into UTC Time zone, solve it, translate
Date/Time information and then return result to the client Tools to display
information...

Thank's for your response, or idea
