Default Time out error on counting members in a level - 04-29-2005 , 07:26 AM

Hi,

I am trying to use a view connecting number of big tables in an OLAP
cube. However, the 'counting members in a level' process returns 'time
out error'.

It is difficult to use individual tables in the cube, because of the
'left join' between the tables to include records not in certain tables.

Is there way to resolve this issue?

Thanks,
John Jayaseelan

You can use smaller tables when building a cube, and try to estimate (or
directly calculate using query analyzer) dimension member count from real
tables.

Hi,

Following is the message received on processing a cube.

[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (PreLoginHandshake()).]General network error.
Check your network documentation.

Thanks

How to apply estimated member count from tables?

Thanks

In the Cube (or shared dimension) editor select a level of your dimension;
in the Advanced Tab of the property panel you can manually set the value of
"Memeber count" property.
