We have a database where production data is logged i.e. 5 times a day (Qwater, Qoil etc, amount produced) in one table. On the other hand we have analysis of samples taken posted in another table. Both tables have date/time columns. These timestamps do not match exactly. By that I mean those records cannot be joined and used in calculations unless the we have a matching timestamp. How is this scanorio best solved? We're planning a time granularity of 5 minutes. Can "Time intelligence" do anything with this? Do we need to manually align all timestamps on 5 minute granularity in a datawarehouse? Can we accomplish anything in the new "Data source view"? This is simplificated. Many similar tables exists, also with non uniform timestamps. |
