Default Strange FoodMart 2000 Behavior - 02-23-2005 , 01:41 PM

Dear List,

I have an cube (SQL2KSP3 Ent.) that is interogated though Excel 2000 SP3 +
PTS Lite clients.
I've come accross strange behavior in my application that is reproducable
in FoodMart 2000 sample.
In Excel I've chosen to connect to 'Foodmart 2000' and choose the Sales
cube.
I then select the Product Dimension and the Customers Dimension and as
measure i choose Profit.
When I now select only Canada from the Customers Dimension (Country) I get
the numbers of Profit that are for the USA, and not those for Canada (0).

Only when I move the Customers Dimension to the Page fields I get correct
numbers.

I've tested this behavior also in Excel 2002, and here it is the same
although the problem seems to occur intermittant.

Is anybody aware of this flaw, and what do people use to avoid this
behavior?
Is there a patch for Excel or PTS or AS, to remedy this?

Regards,

Rene
