Default SSAS2k5 SSL - 05-05-2006 , 04:54 AM

Hello!

I am using Analysis Server over HTTP, which works nice.
I wonder if it is possible (and how) to make Analysis traffic use SSL with a
shared certificate?

Cheers!
Ralf

No one seems to know an answer to this one.

I was able to set up certificates on my IIS, and force SSL for the
connection - I can still connect Excel through the Analysis 9 driver over
https, which is almost good... almost.

What I am still missing is: I order a client certificate, get it issued,
install it to the client. I then change IIS to "demand Client certificate" -
the connection then fails. Dropping back "Ignore Client certificate" works
again.
Putting a simple html page into the folder works in both cases, so Explorer
does show my client authorization when requested, while the Analysis driver
(or Excel) seems not too.

"Ignoring Client certificate" still allows me to SSL-encrypt the connection,
but I would prefer to only let pre-authorized ppl use it - so anything I can
do to make Analysis 9 driver or Excel behave like Explorer and show the
credentials installed onto the autorized systems?
