Default SSAS05: Are Named Calculations supposed to work on an Oracle data source??? - 04-20-2006 , 05:44 AM

Hi
I am struggling to work with SSAS05 and an Oracle data source.
Last issue is that Named Calculations do not work:
I create a named calculation that just duplicates an existing column.
When I explore the data I get the following error:
"One or more errors occurred during processing of command.
ORA-00923: FROM keyword not found where expected

# "

As I mentioned in a previous post (no answer from MSFT yet!) Named
Queries generate an unwanted data type conversion that would force me
to convert the entire DW tables into named queries.

Has all this been tested with Oracle?

Enzo

I use Native OLE DB\Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle.

The error is there even with no formula:
I have already a column MORTGAGE in the table, so I try to create a Named
Calculation called "column" that just contains MORTGAGE and I get the error.

does the "Column" word is an Oracle reserved one?
have your try to change it?

does the explore data works?
