Default SSAS PTD Dimension Calculated Member Error - 06-16-2006 , 02:47 PM

I moved a Period to Date Calculated Member [As Of] from AS 2000 to SSAS
2005. It is not on the Measures Dimension but on a separate dimension
hierachy named [Metrics].[Metric Base].
It now works OK as a column or row but not as a filter (which I used a lot
in AS 2000 reports). The error is
"Unable to obtain the current member because a non-aggregatable attribute
has a calculated member coordinate from a different dimension"
When the [Entry Date].[Fiscal Cal] hieracy is on the rows, the [Gross] is
the Measure, and the [Metrics].Metric Base] is on the columns, then the
report has good values in all cells.
When the [Metrics].[Metric Base] is moved to the Filter on the report and
the [Actuals] member is selected, then all the vcell values show OK. When
the calculated member [As Of] is selected in the filter, then the above error
occurrs. This worked OK in AS 2000.
The function being achieved was to filter any report back to an [Entry Date]
such as
[Metrics].[Metric Base] = [As Of], [Entry Date].Fiscal Cal] = 5/8/2006 to
show the report as it was at 5/8/2006
Any thoughts?

I just tested the Add Business Intelligence on my [Entry Date].Fiscal Cal]
hierachy to generate the YTD function. It worked both as a column as well as
a filter. The only relevent difference is that the DImension Calculated
Member was placed on a Hierachy within the [Entry Date] dimension.
I changed all my calculated members to be within the relevent date dimension
and the formulae worked both as a column and a filter.
Not quite sure why it now works but I am happy with the solution
