Default SSAS 2005 - Many-to-Many Dimension + Regular Dimensions - 10-14-2005 , 01:14 AM

It's possible in SSAS 2005 to have in the same perspective of a cube a
Many-to-Many Dimension and Regular Dimensions?
If it's possible can someone tell me how to include the regular dimensions
in cube?

You can do this, the AdventureWorks cube has an example of this in the
Internet Sales measure group. You can change a dimension's type by
clicking on the intersection between the measure group and the dimension
in the dimension usage tab.

Perspectives are not limited by the dimension types.

Let's explain what i want to do:

I have a cube with a primary fact table , 2 regular dimensions(joined
with the primary fact table), 1 many-to-many dimension and 2 measure groups (
one measure group is for the many-to-many dimension, the othe group is for
the regular dimensions)
I can't establish a join between the regular dimensions and the measure
group for the many-to-many dimension because it's doesnt exist .
I can process the cube, but i can see any values for the regular dimension.

Should i change my cube design?
What can i do to display values for the regular dimension in the cube?

If you need more details let me know and thank you for the prompt answer.

Assuming that your schema and data are set up correctly the following
steps will manually set up a many-to-many relationship.

1) Go into the dimension usage tab for your cube.

2) Under the column for the regular measure group you will probably see
an empty box next to the dimension that should be linked through the
many to many table.

3) Click on that box, then click the little button that appears.

4) A dialog box will appear and the relationship type will say "No
relationship", change this to "Many-to-Many" and specify the many-to-
many measure group as the intermediate group for the relationship.

HTH
