Default SSAS 2005 Attribute/Hierarchy ordering in pivot table - 12-01-2006 , 05:25 PM

Hi all,
I've noticed that in the Excel pivot table, my attributes and
hierarchies appear in a jumbled order. It seems to correspond to
alphabetic order but within each dimension.

In MSAS 2000, these were all dimensions (i.e. a single tier to sort).
In SSAS 2005, there is the dimension tier and the attribute/hierarchy
tier, resulting in a funky sorting within Excel pivot table.

Does anybody know of a configuration that allows this second tier to be
sorted regardless of their parent dimension?

Also, is this problem alleviated in Excel 2007 pivot table?

Hi,

I have not found any option to sort the attributes or user hierarchies in
the pivottable.
(and I have searched this option)

In excel 2007 the layout is completely new and optimized for SSAS2005
The dimensions are more easy to use here.
