Default special character in source column name - 12-08-2004 , 02:55 PM

Hi, guys,

I am trying to build a cube in Analysis service 2000 with data soure is SQL
server 2000.

I have some column with character "." in it and that cause the erro when
processint the cube, saying "The number name 'dbo.fact_table1.TONS C.O.N.C./
DAY' contains more than the maximum number of prefixes", but
TONS.C.O.N.C./DAY is just the name of the column.

Do I have to change the column name? Because that is the name users want.

Thanks,

To AS2K, you may have to create views to expose those columns in shorter names.
