I have a cube with 4 shared dimensions and I connect via Pivot Table
Service and run queries that are then bound into an excel report via
VBA. The problem is this: when I run the queries, they are taking up to
8 minutes to complete! This is too long for my clients. I have tried
to isolate the problem by running the queries in the MDX Sample App from
the client and the server. The client runs slow the first time and then
zips along for subsequent queries. From the server, the query executes
in seconds. I've seen some postings about slowdown when authenticating
Active Directory accounts. My clients are on Active Directory. How can
I get my app to run as fast as the MDX Sample app does from the server?

First thing to try is to update the MDAC's on the client, just today I was
seeing MS Query take forever using Excel Pivot tables and reinstalling MDAC
2.8 fixed it.
