I had posted a question related to Roles not working as desired and I am
assuming that the question was not clear or maybe it's not possible to
do that. Thus I am re-phrasing my question with a another possible
solution???

Is there any advantage/disadvantage of using Partition versus Virtual
Cube? When should one use a Partition and when should a Virtual cube be
used?

Since my Roles are not working as desired therefore should I use a
Partition or a virtual cube?

Partitions and Virtual Cubes are for entirily diffent purposes. Partitions
is when you
have lots of data and need to break this up into to smaller parts to speed
up processing and query time.

Virtual Cubes are one you want to combine to physical cubes in one ... for
instance budget cube with
realized cube can be combined into a budget and realized cube.

Youre Roles can be made to work - i'm sure of that.

I am doing a copy paste of my original post (below) in which I had
reported the problem which I am facing (about not getting the roles
working). I'll be grateful for your help.For further clarity (just in
case), this is how I assigned the role:

1. Created a role and assigned the user who are supposed to be members
of this role
2. When into the Edit mode of the Role
3. Selected Server as the option for 'Enforce on'
4. Went to the last tab of the Window (labelled Dimensions)
5. Selected 'Custom' for the Product Dimension
6. Deselected all members and then selected only the member (Product
Category) on which I wanted to give access
7. Closed all windows by clicking OK
8. Tested the Role and it was working correctly
9. Did a FULL process of the cube
....

But in the front-end the role is not working for the users I have
tried it using a few front ends but the results are the same.

Once again, I will be VERY grateful for your help.
