Default Setting up a ROLE, 'None' not available as access option. - 04-25-2006 , 10:35 AM

I am trying to set up an SSAS role whose members are not able to see
certain dimensions altogether. This link explains that I can do this by
selecting a dimension on the Dimension page in the RoleDesigner, and
then setting it's access property to 'NONE'. Well in my case there's no
NONE, just READ and READ/WRITE are available as options. This I am
experiencing across all of my databases, and all of the cubes these
databases contain.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks

Dan

Access = None was cut for dimensions before RTM. That document is incorrect.

You can just prevent access to the members of the dimensions for the members
of that role...

Thanks,
Akshai
