Default setting default level for a dimension - 08-21-2006 , 02:40 PM

Hi,
How do you set the default level of a cube dimension from SSAS 2005? You'd
think that if a default existed it would be the first level that is defined
in the dimension but that's not what I'm experiencing.

thx,
Marilyn

do you ask for default member or default attribute or default hierarchy?

the integrated VS interface to browse the cubes get the first user hierarchy
(by name) when you drag and drop the dimension.
if there is no user hierarchy, then the first attribute (by name) is used.
other applications can have a different behavior.
