We are about to undertake an upgrade from SP3a to SP4. We need to make the
upgrade as we are unable to restore OLAP databases which have been archived
on a Dual Processor server. (Sounds strange I know, but we've managed to
track the problem down to the fact that one of the cubes has custom dimension
security for allowed members. When trying to restore it onto a dual
processor server, it hangs on the validating roles part of the restore
process - we upgraded to SP4 on a workstation and tested - The problem seems
to be fixed in the new service pack).

Could you please offer advice as to any 'gotchas' you have experienced with
an SP4 upgrade?

We query the cubes using SP1 Reporting Services, which we do not want to
upgrade (I see that a new MDAC version is included - will this effect our
existing reports?)

Also, do we need to install the SP4 SQL Server service pack as well, or can
we just get away with upgrading analysis services?
