so when you process a cube; and it goes into multiple 'segments'; what does
this mean??

obviously, we want to work to minimize the segment count, but this is
totally seperate than partitions; right?

is there any way to adjust how many segments are happening?

it is related to the level of aggregation; right?

what are typical segment counts?

Segments are just related to the internal structuring of data -- kind of
like an extent is to SQL Server. It just for your information -- there is
nothing you can do it tune it.
