Default Security Problem - 03-02-2004 , 03:21 AM

Dear all
Urgent! Help please.

I am using W2k with SP4, SQL 2000 with SP3a. I create a web page to connect to the OLAP 8.0 cube. I grant sanction to a group of users to view the cube. Unfortunately, they can't access and received error message like 'Pivot Table List could not connect to the data source. Either BOF or EOF is true'. I then grant sanction for this user as OLAP admin then he could access. What's the problem and ways to solve the problem

Thanks & Best Regards

Hi,

Either the User doesn't have any access on the Cube or the
Security Rules defined in the cube doesn't return any data
for the Current selection. Thats why he is getting the
follwoing error 'Pivot Table List could not connect to the
data source. Either BOF or EOF is true'.

When you make this user as an OLAP Administrator, the
security rules defined in the Cube are not valid and thats
why the user is able to access without any problem.

HTH.
Cheers,
Sanka
