Default Security in Parent-Child Dimension - 07-26-2004 , 03:55 PM

Hello Everyone:

I've asked this question before and received no answer
so I will try again just in case someone has an idea.

I have a cube with a parent-child client dimension. This dimension
has 150000 members with up to 11 levels in its deepest
branch (it is unbalanced).

The relationship between windows users and members of this client dimension
is held in a table with an additional columns filled with the value 1.
I have made a security cube which contains both dimensions
and a measure with values of 1 for each user-client pair.

Now I want to create a virtual cube based on this cube so that
connected users can only see the members of this dimension that
are assigned to them in the security cube.

This sounds to me like a problem others must have had but I cannot
find any documentation on dealing with
security in parent-child dimensions.

I have read a couple of articles with suggestions but they only apply to
normal dimensions not parent-child.

If anyone can point me to any documentation or articles on this
I would be very thankful.

Regards,
MT
