Default Security in OLAP and Http - 05-11-2004 , 12:21 AM

I have a OLAP server working using http:// connection.I want to know how do I restrict the access of Users. My security is in place in OLAP Databases but that is probably not enough. How do I ensure the people using http:// get to see only the data that they are defined to see in OLAP Databases.

You can pass user informations to the OLAP-DB by setting the authentication
method for msolap.asp in the IIS configuration.

You have to change the settings (properties) of msolap.asp in the admin
console of the IIS (right-click on the file in MMC -->properties, tab "data
security").

In this wp you find some more details on setting up http-connect to an AS
with SP3a:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...l_datapump.asp

Matthias
