Default Restoring Analysis Server Database without CAB files - 06-17-2005 , 09:45 AM

I have a failed server of which i've been able to recover the data from the
system. The hard drive fails to boot up with a Windows Installation on it.

I got all of the data off of it, including the data folder inside Microsoft
Analysis Server folder in program files.

I have all of the databases from my failed install, but how do I restore the
raw analysis server database to a new server so that I can use it.

I know how to restore an archived database, but I cannot archive this
because the server it was attached to is now gone.

I have the original repository database, but any time I open it, Access wont
let me edit it. That goes for the current one as well.

Does anyone have any methods for restoring analysis server databases this way?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jonathan

You should be able to Edit Your Repository Connection string in
Analysis Manager and point to your old repository database wherever it
is. After that you should see all your old database in Analysis
Manager...they should just be in an un-built state. Then you can just
re-build them and you arre done.
