Hi,

Today I did see a serious problem in SSAS2005. I hope in next build/sp
it is solved.

On my development laptop i use SSAS2005 Developer Edition and on the
server SSAS 2005 Standard Edition.

On my laptop I did deploy and process AdventureWorksDW Enterprise OLAP
Sample on SSAS2005 Developer. I did make a backup and this backup i did
restore on SSAS2005 Standard.

After that the SSAS2005 Standard server is complete destroyed. Existing
SSAS2005 OLAP databases are deleted and it is not possible to delete,
add or change any SSAS2005 OLAP databases anymore,

Do you have any experience or do you know a solution to fix this
serious problem.

If it is not possible I have to uninstall and install the server with
SQL Server 2005. I hope this is not the solution.

Request for Microsoft: Add a check before starting restore of SSAS2005
backup if it is suitable for SSAS2005 Standard.

I have to say my experience so far with production systems that
ssas2000 is more stable and the admin modules in ssas2005 are more
faster than VS2005. I hope this can be enhanced in next service packs.
