Default Reserve memory for AS ? - 08-07-2003 , 06:46 PM

Hi:
In AS Wizard, there is a place you can set the memoery amount used by AS.
Just wonder if there is a way to reserve RAM for Analysis server by
programming? Can I do that by using DSO?

Thanks

Play with the registry entries hklm\software\microsoft\olap
server\currentversion.
You'll find several memory settings here not used in the GUI. I remember
seeing a paper on these registry entries once, but forgotten where. Most are
self-explaining though.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en...egsettings.asp
However, there is no mechansim to tell NT that it should reserve 'nn' amount
of RAM for Analysis Services (or any process) and not use it for anything
else.
