Hi OLAP Gurus, I have just read about MS SQL Reporting Services (MSRS), and the data source can be : - Database (including all OLEDB and ODBC compliant ) - MS Analysis Services OLAP Cubes The question is : in what role that MSRS will fit in OLAP ? Just as OLAP Client software ? or as OLAP Portal ? In displaying/analyzing MSAS Cube, how is Reporting Services compared to Crystal Analysis ? Thanks for any info, Trist |

Well, RS does support an OLAP Datasorce, and you put an MDX query into it. However I found it to be rather confining and very picky about the data. Not only that it seems to be slow at executing the MDX Queries. There are however ways around this by creating views and such in SQL Server. But overall RS isn't a bad product and eventually will be as good or better then Crystal. That's my two cents anyways. C.W.
