Default Remote partitions - 02-05-2004 , 11:29 AM

I try to use remote partitions.

The cube is on a Windows 2003, with Analysis Services SP3a
The remote is a Windows 2000 entreprise server, with Analysis Services SP3a
The two services are started with the same domain administrator user.

The processing of the remote partition semms to be ok.
But when query the cube (browse) all the cells contains #Err, and the message is
"Unable to display cell properties
An error occured during attempt to get a cell value."

If you have a solution....

Hi Thierry,

Have a look at:

FIX: #ERR Is Returned for Cells That Are Sourced from Remote Partitions
WGID:230
ID: 822839.KB.EN-US
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;822839

If I remember correctly can that also show the error that you seen.

Let me know if you need the fix?
HTH,
Bas

That being said, however, remote partitions are a feature that is very
infrequently used and you should not use them unless you have an
architecture really requires them. There are other alternatives that are
much better, and more effective. Why are you using remote partitions?
