Default Remote Connection AS2K - 07-11-2006 , 12:16 AM

Hi,

Do you need to have AS2K Enterprise Edition to be able to remotely connect
to the cube? I am currently running Win2k3, SQL2K Standard SP4 with AS. If I
try to remotely connect to the Analysis Services server (say through Excel),
I get an unspecified error.

Thanks

No, you do not need the Enterprise Edition to query an AS2k server.

If you have not already done so, it is a good idea to update PTS (Pivot
Table Services) on your client machines. As part of the SP4 download you
will find a file called PTSLite.exe. There is a good chance that running
this file to install the SP4 version of PTS on your client will fix your
issue.
