Hi,

Based on my research, the message typically occurs when the OLAP repository
is in an Access database (..\Microsoft Analysis Services\bin\msmdrep.mdb).
The problem is in accessing the share \\OLAPServerName\msolaprepository$.
The specific issue could be that the user does not have permissions to this
share. You can check this by:

1. Trying to directly connect to this share from the client machine.

2. Checking the share permissions. You may also verify this by making the
user an 'Administrator' on the OLAP Server machine, then see if the user is
able to connect.

Is your repository in an Access DB?

Please verify the above. It is most likely a permissions issue as you
suspected.

Thanks,
Michael Shao
