I just did some tests with your command I replaced them with my machine
settings and it worked without a problem. This was my syntax:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Bin\msmdarch /a baskolap
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\data" MICROSOFT
c:\temp\ms.cab ms.txt c:\temp

I noticed that you had a > in front of msmdarch but I expect this to be a
problem with the newsgroup somehow. Things we can check on this is does the
account that is running the command have access to the data direcoty of AS
does the account have access to the c:\temp directory to write. Is there
enough space availalbe on c:\ because it needs to create the archive there.

You can check with tools als filemon www.sysinternals.com to see if there
are any access problems etc.
