Have you looked at the AS Performance Guide at:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...e/AnSvcsPG.asp
and the AS Operations Guide at:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...e/anservog.asp ?
Both of these have information on this topic.

Hi

The Sql Server analysis services server process "msmdsrv" is consuming a
lot of memory and when it reaches its threshold value it gives error "out of
memory" and automatically gets restarted.

As far as i know all the dimensions for all the databases are loaded into
the memory.....if i cut short my databases then the process may consume less
memory. The only way to cut short my databases is that i archive the old
data BUT WILL I BE ABLE TO DO ANALYSIS ON THAT ARCHIVED DATA AND GENERATE
REPORTS FROM IT cause this data is business related and is very critical?

if anyone knows plz reply.
